#1:  The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) has stated that the abolition of hunting and trapping are priority issues.  The organization could use as much as $96 million in annual support to take away hunting and fishing rights!  The Fund for Animals merged into the organization in January 2005.  An Animal Protection Litigation section was created.  Additionally, HSUS maintains the Wildlife Land Trust program, which manages over 60,000 acres of land on 70 properties in 21 states and four other countries—all prohibiting hunting.

#2:  New York, Texas, Iowa and Connecticut are states where hunters have had to stop legislation that made the killing of wildlife a punishable act of cruelty.

#3:  At least eight major radical organizations want to end all animal killing, including hunting.  Some of them use violence to that end.  Defenders of Wildlife, The Sierra Club and its legal arm Earth Justice, are opposed to hunting.

#4:    Another bill to outlaw dove hunting in Minnesota was introduced to the state Senate in 2005. Senate Bill 2252, introduced by Sen. Scott Dibble, DFL-Minneapolis, would remove mourning doves from the list of game birds and prohibit the taking of the birds.  Similar laws were introduced in other states.
